Matthew 9:27-38

Week 5 Memory Verse
But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
And as you go, preach, saying,
‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers,
raise the dead, cast out demons.
Freely you have received, freely give.
Matthew 10:6-8

This blog post is over Matthew 9:27-38. I hope you enjoy it, friends. :)

When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed him, crying out and saying, "Son of David, have mercy on us!"  And when he had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They said to Him, "Yes, Lord."  Then He touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith let it be to you."
And their eyes were opened.

AND THEIR EYES WERE OPENED. Well, well, well. It is so so easy to see these miracles in the Bible and think that nothing like that could happen to you. So many miracles happen everyday, and we tend to just overlook them! Like, "Oh wow. I just almost slammed into that car. Thank goodness I made it."

Nowadays everyone is so quick to believe in luck, or fate, or destiny. You know, serendipity? I DO believe that everything happens for a reason. But the reason is that God has a plan specifically designed for all of us, In reality this "fate" is Jesus keeping his hand on us everyday, and guiding us in the direction of His plan. God loves His children. He is not going to forget about us, or leave us behind.

Today as you go through your routine of going to your job, looking after your kids, going to school, or whatever else, I pray that your eyes would be opened. I hope that we can all take a little while out of our day, and watch for the miracles that the Lord so generously gives us. I hope that we can have faith, and truly believe that He will do everything that He says He will do. Because He will. The miracles are all around us. All we have to do is open up our eyes, and look.

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Ephesians 3:20-21

TIME OF REFLECTION:
Take note through out the day of ways great or small that you see God perform miracles in your life and in those around you!  It could be as big as someone sharing with you about how they didn't have the money to pay a bill and somehow God provided a way or how you woke up with a horrible headache and you realized God touched you.

  1. I am a little behind on the daily Bible study, but I had to sneak ahead and read out of order when I heard you say you were writing. Very insightful, Sam (and so basic at the same time). God's word is not "foolishness" to those of us who believe; it's not written in some "secrect code" as many would have us believe. It is living and breathing and applicable to every situation in our lives. It is practical and easy to understand and relevant every day in every instance. *I woke up with a headache, by the way, and your last comment made me smile! It's not the coffee that made the headache go away...it's my God who gave me the coffee because He loves me! :)
